The pink jacket is "eh", but the cobalt blue is the leading contender, because of the long beautiful feather construction. The blue is so bright though, that this would stand out even if it were not feathers. Too much?

So last Fall, I tried on what I have come to view as an exquisite white feather bolero jacket at a little boutique here in DUMBO. There was only one, in my size, and it was on sale. I was immediately drawn to the uniqueness and impracticality of it, which is also, I guess, why I didn't buy it. I felt like it was an extravagance that would just sit in my closet and look pretty. A month later, I was putting together an outfit and realized the perfect capper for it would be the white feather jacket. I went back to buy it, and it was gone.

Since then, I have continually seen more and more ways to wear a piece like this, and I have so much remorse for NOT making an impulse buy. I continue to search for another one just like it, but to no avail.

I have found a couple brightly colored feather jackets, but it seems to me something this wild and attention-getting should at least be in a basic color if you are to wear it much, right? White is optimal, with black coming in second.

There is also the difference in eather construction. I found this nice white jacket, but it seems to be made of the downy marabou, not the long feathers of the cobalt blue jacket from Miss Selfridge, which are much more modern.

These are just too costumey.

ZIpper, Zippers, Everywhere!

OK, I swear I wasn't drunk when I bough these yesterday. I got drunk after. I still can't believe I bought these instead of the very versatile comfortable Repetto Kiss booties I blogged about earlier. In reality I kind of put down this new zippered bootie trend. Too rock n' roll right?

I wrote them off as too tall, or too gimmicky. Case in point, the zippers on these Giuseppe Zanotti boots are tacked on top of the leather boot, not integrated into them. Plus, they are $1975.00! Click the boot to link to Intermix where they are sold.

Now these are much more to my liking, with a hidden platform, and lower, not-so-spindly heels that you can actually walk around in. The zippers look cool, and are integrated into the suede, but are permanently stuck in the halfway open position.

DIY - 80's Studded Leather Pants

Just bought these on Ebay. Here is my idea - cut off legs just above knees to make into leather leg warmers. They have a few stud up the side of the legs, so I thing they could be really cool. Then I realized I might be able to use the leftover parts as leather shorts. They are hi-rise though so we will see. I am not sure the old hi rise look is the same as the new fashion forward hi rise look.

These are regular 5-pocket jean cut, so they would make for a very good leather short.

How cool are these? Beautiful grey color too. 5" heel with 1" platform. Net, about 1" too high for me to be able to walk down the subway steps in.

I can see them on you though, since you commute in a car.
